It was announced on October 19, 2001, that the project will be known as “Le Rêve,” which translates as “the dream” in French.
The Desert Inn’s main tower was demolished on October 23, 2001, to make room for the new resort complex. On November 17, 2004, the remainder of the Desert Inn was destroyed by fire. The project includes the revamping of the historic Desert Inn golf course, which was renamed the WynnBet Golf Club as part of the redevelopment. Wynn West Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada
After the New Frontier Hotel and Casino was demolished in 2007, it was announced in early 2018 by Steve Wynn, then-chairman of WynnBet Resorts, that the company intended to purchase the property across the street from Wynn Las Vegas and Encore, which was previously home to the New Frontier Hotel and Casino before it was demolished in 2007.
The new hotel, which will be named WynnBet West, is expected to include between 2,000 and 3,000 rooms.
